Lucy is 5 months old....can you believe it?!? She is such an angel and is growing well (she is such a chunker). She had her first urgent-care visit on Saturday. At 9:30am she started screaming, we couldn't figure out what was wrong and we couldn't get her to calm down either, neither is typical of our little Lucy. After an hour of this we called our pediatrician, they said she might me teething (my daughter cant be big enough for teeth?!?!). So we tried giving her a teething ring to suck on, put some teething jell on her gums, etc. We kept checking for a fever but she never developed one. Well, the crying continued on all day, we did get her to take a good nap but she wasn't eating...not typical :). It was the saddest day EVER!! It was exhausting for Chad and I and poor Lucy girl was so miserable. At about 4:00 we called our pediatrician again and they confirmed that it was not usual behavior. Our main concern was her heart condition, we were told by her cardiologist that if she was ever non-soothable and acting not like herself that we should take her in. So we took her to a nearby urgent care center. They were super nice and bumped us ahead of everyone and got Lucy right in. Turns out she had an ear infection in her right ear...we were so glad it was something simple! They gave us medicine to clear up the infection and ear drops to help with the pain. By Sunday morning or little Lucy Goose was practically back to her usual happy self! We are so glad!! :)
Lucy is getting so fun and interactive. She is constantly talking and laughing with us. She LOVES her exersaucer; she is starting to intentionally grab at the toys and watch them move :). She loves her hands, she puts them out in front of her and just stares at them, trying to figure it all out. She can roll from her stomach to her back, but is having trouble getting back on to her stomach. It is so funny to watch her--she tries so hard! She gets onto her side and swings her legs and hips around then does super intense side-crunches trying to turn her body over. She has done it twice but they seemed to have been on accident ;) So far she has taken no interest in food, but I feel as if that is coming; she has started wanting to put things in her mouth; as soon as she grabs onto my finger it goes straight to her mouth :) All-in-all, she is a beautiful little girl and is growing too fast for me!! We love her so much.
At the doctors, finally starting to calm down after they gave her ear drops.
On her side, resting and staring at her hands :)
Her cute leggings!!! ....I need to repaint her toes ;)
Caught me trying to take a picture of her :) Her hair is getting so long, blonde, and curly!!

I am so glad she is feeling better. I can't get over her hair. It is adorable. I hope she keeps feeling good.
ReplyDeleteI know! Babies at the Doctors or at hospitals is so sad! Glad it was only an ear infection though. Poor baby. It seems like every time Mavrick gets sick it went straight to his ears so I made our doctor give us a refillable prescription for drops. Haha. Her hair is so cute. Love it. =)
