NEW YORK!

Chad had a 4 day weekend due to 4th of July so we headed up to New York Thursday night. Chad's brother Shea and his family are there this summer, he is doing an internship as well. We stayed with them in their little 331 sq ft apartment...! :) They live on Roosevelt Island, it is 800ft wide and 2 miles long; 30,000 people live on it! It was a really nice area. We had a lot of fun and we are glad to have seen our family and all the sights!! However, we both talked about how we will probably never go back :) ...unless we hit up a sweet Broadway show. It was very busy and dirty; by dirty I mean the kinda of dirty that happens naturally from an old and crowded city. But I felt like a needed to constantly drench myself in sanitizer...But it was a part of the East we needed to experience!! :)

Some of the things we did in New York:
  • Went to the Manhattan temple
  • Went to the Manhattan Children's Museum
  • Had THE BEST NY PIZZA EVER!!! From Grimaldi's.
  • Had the MOST AMAZING salted-caramel cupcakes from City Cakes.......this is saying a lot for me since I am really not a cake person, but I am desperately craving one right now..................
  • Took a ferry out to see the Statue of Liberty..that was pretty neat :)
  • Went to Wall Street/Financial District (Chad had to see it of course)
  • Saw the Building site of the World Trade Center; they are building a new "Freedom Tower"
  • Rode the subway a billion times
  • Took the "Airtram"...its like a giant ski-lift shuttle thing that goes across the river.
  • Walked through Central Park...it is ginormous!!
  • Had a hot-dog from the street vendors :)

Side view of the Manhattan temple. Chad and I were walking around trying to find it, we heard it was just in some big building..we thought we were lost, then we looked up and saw Moroni :) This whole building is actually owned by the church, the top few floor are the temple and they have a meeting house, distribution center, and other offices here as well. It was so beautiful!! We went inside and you couldn't even tell we were in downtown Manhattan :)
Chad with Lucy at the Children Museum...it was more of like a giant play center :)

Pizza worth driving to NY for!! :)
