Washington DC Monuments

Saturday we took another trip into DC, this time visiting a lot of the monuments. We hit up the Washington Monument, World War II, Vietnam, Korean, and Lincoln Memorial, as well as the Constitution Garden and pond. It was so fun to see everything! It was amazing to see the Washington Monument up close...that thing is HUGE and to think that they built it in 1868 is amazing to me. The war memorials are always so awe striking; all those men that died for our country. The World War II memorial was very interesting to me (I wasn't as familiar with it) They had a wall covered with gold stars, each star representing 100 men that had died...

We are so glad for this summer and the many opportunities that we have had! We have enjoyed experiencing life out east and seeing all the amazing sights! It was SO incredibly hot walking around mid-day with high humidity (I was sweating more than EVER). In all of our pictures we look miserable :) But we really did enjoy it and being together! Poor Lucy, I am sure she was wondering why we would ever want to leave our sweet, air-conditioned, basement :) When we got home we had a fun little family BBQ...grilled chicken, yummy mashed potatoes, crispy watermelon, and DELICIOUS grilled pineapple..yum yum yum :)

Love you all!!

Lincoln Memorial, 58 steps to the top! :)

Taking a break, trying to cool down. Lucy wondering why we are in the heat :)

....This was just my first plate ;)
